As a part of FLOWERS project that I posted previously,I taught my third graders 2 songs about flowers sung to the tunes of famous nursery rhymes:Twinkle,Twinkle Little Star and London Bridge is Falling Down respectively.
The lyrics of the first song I found on the net,the second one was written by our English Department coordinator.
Here is the printable of the songs.
And here is a video of my students performing the songs.
This video was taken on Halloween so my students look super cute, don't they?Later I taught them the gestures that go with the song but I wanted to post this video with their Halloween costumes:)
On the occasion of the Head of Nuns visit we were asked to prepare our students for a small project on Flowers. Here is what I came up to.
I chose 3 students
1 Student was going to have a small introduction about Flowers,Roses especially and their meanings
2 Student was going to suggest the Nun to take a quiz about Roses and their meanings.(4 questions were to be asked about each color of the rose with 3 possible variants. The students were to hold up 3 posters of roses with 3 different colors and the Nun was to choose the correct answer)
3 Student was going to recite a Poem about Roses.
After the performance they were going to hand her this small brochure with the Flower Introduction, the Quiz and the Poem.
