I enjoy teaching poems to my primary grade classrooms.Poetry is multi-sensory learning at its best. Teaching poems doesn't take much time to practise. You won't have to overload the students with lots of words. Plus you can always act out and use gestures for the action words making it more fun and memorable.
Have a look at the 3D Shapes Poems I found at The Kindergarten Smorgasboard and turned it into a printable worksheet.
